Nam in quarters of HK F6 tennis tournament

Vietnamese top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam booked a ticket to compete in the Hong Kong F6 Futures tennis tournament’s quarter-final yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — The nation’s top tennis player, Lý Hoàng Nam entered the quarterfinals of Hong Kong F6 Futures tournament yesterday.

Nam beat Alberto Lim, the Philippines’s No. 1, 12-10, 6-2 in a second round match that lasted one hour and 38 minutes.

Nam is world No. 498, and Lim is world No 1561.

Earlier, Nam has paired with Lim to compete in the men’s doubles category at international events like the 25th Sarawak Chief Minister’s Cup and the ITF Junior Tennis Championship (Grade 1).

Nam will next meet the winner of the match between Yamasaki Jumpei of Japan, world No 804 and Fabien Reboul of France, world No 438. — VNS
