Golden Kite Prize film awards ceremony to be held in Hà Nội

The Golden Kite Prize awards ceremony will be held in Hà Nội on April 20. The prize is the country’s most prestigious cinematic award.

HÀ NỘI - The Golden Kite Prize awards ceremony will be held in Hà Nội on April 20. The prize is the country’s most prestigious cinematic award. The event will be part of a wide range of activities commemorating 60 years of Vietnamese cinematography.

The award ceremony will be broadcast live on the television channel VTV2 at 8pm.

Eighteenth feature films, 33 shorts, 14 animations, 37 documentaries, and 12 scientific films have been nominated for the annual Golden Kite awards held by the Việt Nam Cinematography Association.

Many of the films nominted have proven popular with audiences, including the award-winning Tôi Thấy Hoa Vàng Trên Cỏ Xanh ((Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) and Quyên and Trên Đỉnh Bình Yên (On the Peaceful Peak).

The nominated films will be presented to the public free of charge at major cinemas in the capital on April 13-17. Tickets will be available from April 11.  More information about the awards can be found on the website canhdieuawards.vn.

Deputy President of the Việt Nam Cinematography Association, Nguyễn Thị Hồng Ngát, said that evaluation criteria for the awards focuses on creativity in artistic expression, national identity, human values, and positive social impact.  -- VNS
