HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Professional Football Company (VPF) has invited Muhammad Nazmi bin Nasaruddi to supervise a match at the V.League this weekend.

The Malaysian FIFA-certified referee will supervise the match between top team Hải Phòng and second-ranked Hà Nội T&T on August 13 at the Hải Phòng City’s Lạch Tray Stadium.

The match is considered to be an ‘early final’ of the national premier league.

Nasaruddi, 26, has participated in the AFC Champions League and World Cup qualifiers.

It is not the first time V.League has invited foreign referees in response to the performance of local referees, provoking heated reaction from clubs and the public recently, and to prevent any match-fixing issues when the competition ends.

VPF has attracted foreign referees to Việt Nam in the last two years. This decision has received strong support from the participating clubs. — VNS
