The 49th COVID-19 patient in Việt Nam – a 71-year-old British man – recovered successfully and left the Huế Central Hospital in Phong Điền District, Thừa Thiên-Huế Province on Tuesday morning.

General Tô Lâm, Minister of Public Security, has urged police forces to ensure national security and social order while focusing on the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s has issued an order on social distancing, restricting people from leaving their homes and banning gatherings of more than two people in public. The order will apply nationwide for 15 days, starting Wednesday April 1, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The HCM City Department of Health has instructed aesthetic plastic surgery establishments, physical rehabilitation services at general medical clinics and hospitals, and private specialised medical clinics to temporarily suspend operations from March 30.

Makeshift stations providing free COVID-19 tests for Hà Nội residents opened on Tuesday.

The department has 700 units of blood, only enough to supply patients who faced fatal diseases or an emergency.
