HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary and President Tô Lâm on Friday presided over a Politburo’s regular meeting, highlighting the interests of the nation and its people in the country’s development.

Addressing the meeting, he said that the Politburo and the Party Secretariat have followed the guidelines of the Party Central Committee to effectively implement the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress through various events.

The Party Central Committee office as well as other agencies have made great coordination in their work in advising and implementing the official documents issued by the Politburo and the Party Secretariat.

However, the Party and State leader noted that a significant workload remains on this year’s working plans of the Politburo and the Party Secretariat, in addition to the final work on the 13th National Party Congress’s resolution and the preparations for the 14th National Party Congress which will begin in early 2026.

He requested that the Politburo prioritise the proposals to be submitted at the incoming sessions of the Party Central Committee, as well as those aiming to drive socio-economic development, increase people’s quality of life, remove bottlenecks for businesses and localities and ensure political and social stability for people’s wellbeing and businesses.

Reprimand issued

The Politburo on Friday also issued a reprimand to the 2015-20 and 2020-25 Party Standing Committees of An Giang Province for misconduct regarding land laws and regulations.

They were found to show negligence in leadership, which enabled the Party delegation of the provincial People’s Committee to bypass the Party Standing Committee’s supervision and commit misconduct in 15 sand mining projects and 197 others using the province’s land resources.

These cases have led to multiple legal violations among the Party delegations of the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee and various other organisations and individuals, posing risks of State budget losses.

Many Party organisations and members under the responsibility of An Giang Party Standing Committee are also facing disciplinary measures or criminal charges for the wrongdoings related to the AIC Group. — VNS
