Female sculptor opens first solo exhibition

Female sculptor Lê Thị Hiền is holding her first solo exhibition, which will open from 5pm today at the Việt Nam Fine Arts Museum.

HÀ NỘI — Female sculptor Lê Thị Hiền is holding her first solo exhibition, which will open from 5pm today at the Việt Nam Fine Arts Museum.

The exhibition will showcase a selection from her numerous works created over her career.

More than 10 sculptures and installations, in different mediums including steel, wood, and lacquer, will be exhibited. A major work, called Multiform, consists of 12 45cm-by-65cm-by-55cm pieces. The artist will change the form of this installation daily during the exhibition period.

Born in 1957, sculptor Hiền graduated from the Việt Nam University of Fine Arts in 1986 and became a lecturer at the university’s Sculpture Department. During her career that spans nearly 30 years in both the local and global art scene, Hiền has received scholarships to live and practice her arts in Canada and Belgium.

Her exhibition is open to the public until March 14. The Việt Nam Fine Arts Museum is at 66 Nguyễn Thái Học Street. — VNS
