Bắc Giang attracts investment projects for tourism development

HÀ NỘI — According to Director of Bắc Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trương Quang Hải, the province is focusing on attracting investment projects to promote local tourism development.

The West Yên Tử Spiritual - Ecological Tourism Area project with a total investment capital of about VNĐ1.48 trillion is one of the significant projects being invested in. The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024. The project has completed phase 1, including cable car system (Lower Pagoda - Upper Pagoda), cable car station, central square gate, streamside restaurant, landscape bridge to Lower Pagoda, system supporting infrastructure and landscape works. Phase 2 of the project is being implemented.

From 2021 until now, Bắc Giang province has mobilised socialised funding of about VNĐ340 billion to invest in projects to preserve, restore and promote the value of historical and cultural relics associated with tourism development, including Hoàng Hoa Thám Temple; Tam Quan Gate and road to Vinh Nghiêm pagoda; the bell tower of Tây Yên Tử pagoda and the Ancestral House of Tây Yên Tử eco-spiritual tourist area.

From now until 2025, the province continues to pay attention to improving the quality of tourism planning and focus on mobilising public investment capital and socialised resources to invest in key projects serving tourism development. In addition, the province is improving the quality of four main tourism products, including cultural - spiritual tourism, eco - resort tourism, entertainment – recreation - sports tourism, and community tourism that is associated with fruit growing areas, agricultural products, and rural areas. The province promotes tours connection and tourist markets, especially for international tourists, and develops new tourism products that are unique and different.

In the first nine months of 2023, the total number of tourists coming to Bắc Giang is estimated to reach 1.5 million (including 15,000 international visitors), an increase of 45 per cent over the same period. Total revenue from tourism business activities is estimated at VNĐ850 billion, an increase of 26 per cent. VNS
