HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has organised a training course called “Digital transformation in oil and gas enterprises” for 150 leaders and managers of the group and its member units.
The programme is chaired by the Organisation and Human Resource Management Board of the Group, in cooperation with the Petrovietnam University (PVU) and The Information and Communications Public Management School, under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The course includes speakers such as Professor Doctor Hồ Tú Bảo from Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, Doctor Nguyễn Nhật Quang, VINASA Science and Technology Institute and Associate Professor, Doctor Trần Minh Tuấn, Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Strategy.
The aim is to provide information and knowledge about digital transformation, the State's policies and orientations, the concept and steps of digital transformation in enterprises, and lessons learned by Petrovietnam and its member units. The course will be held online to ensure safety against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the course, the speakers can share important methodologies of digital transformation, particularly building the current organisational and operational model, based on the 'thinking system' and 'Data + Connectivity' to design the target operation system while assessing the current system.
Based on gap analysis, the programme builds a digital transformation project strategy under six principles of Total, Comprehensive, Synchronous, Breakthrough, Governmental and Leadership. For each step in the overall project, it is necessary to implement five work components related to People, Institutions, Technology, Roadmap, Implementation Management.
Petrovietnam has implemented digital transformation at the parent company, in line with the general trend of the world and the oil and gas industry, which helps to form a digital foundation linking value chains, allowing for increased productivity, optimised costs, improved competitiveness and increased productivity, transparency and efficiency,
This supports member units to carry out digital transformation so that Petrovietnam becomes a comprehensive digital corporation by 2030, in line with Resolution No 52-NQ/TW dated September 27, 2019 of the Politburo on guidelines and policies to participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution; Directive 01/CT-TTg dated January 14, 2020 on "Promoting the development of Việt Nam's digital technology" and Decision No 749/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2020, approving the "National digital transformation programme with a vision to 2030".
