HA NỘI — The Việt Nam national football team will have two friendly matches with the U22 squad in preparation for competitive fixtures in 2021.

The national team will have three matches in the 2022 World Cup second qualification round in March and June. They will also defend their title at the AFF Suzuki Cup in December.

The matches, which are sponsored by Acecook Việt Nam, are tests for the younger side. They will compete in the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers in October and the 31st SEA Games in November.

The first friendly will be on December 23 at Cẩm Phả Stadium in Quảng Ninh Province. The second is four days later at Việt Trì Stadium in Phú Thọ Province.

Tickets cost from VNĐ50,000-150,000 (US$2.2-6.6), with all the proceeds from ticketing to be donated to people in the central and Central Highlands provinces which suffered from recent floods.

The national team with 36 players are training at the Việt Nam Youth Football Training Centre in Hà Nội while the U22s will gather on December 18. — VNS
