HÀ NỘI — Trần Hà Vi of Việt Nam won a gold medal at the Aerobic Suzuki World Cup, the 27th International Aerobic Championship in Tokyo, Japan, on April 3.

Vi overcame powerful rivals in the girls’ 12-14 age group to top the podium with 18.976 points.

Japan’s Miyajim Kanon came second with 18.850 points, while Việt Nam’s Vũ Ngọc Ánh took the bronze medal with 18.825.

“There were many strong players in this category, especially those of the hosts. But Vi, who came second in last year’s competition, performed beautifully and entered the final,” Coach Phan Thùy Linh said.

“It was a tense final day as she was the first to perform, but the Hanoian girl shone perfectly without making any mistake to win her crown,” Linh said.

On the same day, the Việt Nam team grabbed three silver medals, which were claimed by Bùi Minh Phương in the women’s individual U18; Phan Nguyễn Gia Hiển in the men’s individual U18; and Đào Hải Giang, Hiển and Phương in the trio event. — VNS
