HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 14,835 new coronavirus patients on Saturday.

The total number of infections since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1,746,092.

Thirteen of the new infections were imported and the remaining domestic.

New transmissions were reported in 62 provinces and cities across the country.

Twenty cases of the Omicron variant have been recorded in Việt Nam, all of which were quarantined immediately after entry, in Hà Nội (1), Quảng Nam (14) and HCM City (5).

A total of 9,628 infections were detected in the community.

The capital city of Hà Nội continued to be the leading locality on the list, with 1,748 infections.

Other localities that reported new transmissions were Vĩnh Long (1,223), Tây Ninh (947), Khánh Hòa (785), Bình Phước (728), Hồ Chí Minh (569), Trà Vinh (563), Bình Định (521), Cà Mau (498), Đồng Tháp (405), Bạc Liêu (399), Bắc Ninh (368), Thừa Thiên Huế (350), Phú Yên (283), Cần Thơ (276), An Giang (265), Lâm Đồng (265), Quảng Ninh (254), Kiên Giang (247), Hưng Yên (245), Bình Thuận (211), Thanh Hóa (210), Đồng Nai (203), Tiền Giang (195), Đà Nẵng (188), Quảng Nam (181), Sóc Trăng (180), Hậu Giang (170), Bến Tre (161), Gia Lai (145), Quảng Ngãi (145), Nghệ An (143), Hà Giang (143), Hải Phòng (116), Đắk Nông (114), Bình Dương (105), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (104), Vĩnh Phúc (96), Nam Định (93), Hà Nam (88), Ninh Bình (72), Bắc Giang (69), Sơn La (67), Hòa Bình (62), Ninh Thuận (61), Thái Nguyên (58), Phú Thọ (55), Long An (51), Quảng Bình (51), Quảng Trị (47), Đắk Lắk (40), Thái Bình (37), Kon Tum (36), Lào Cai (31), Lạng Sơn (30), Điện Biên (29), Cao Bằng (26), Bắc Kạn (25), Yên Bái (18), Tuyên Quang (11), Hà Tĩnh (8) and Lai Châu (8).

Some 2,990 patients were declared recovered from the disease, with 1,358,276 people across the country having been given the all-clear so far.

More than 152 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide.

A further 216 fatalities related to COVID-19 were confirmed, including in HCM (33), Đồng Nai (26), Vĩnh Long (16), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (15), Bến Tre (14), Cần Thơ (14), Kiên giang (13), Sóc Trăng (12), Đồng Tháp (12), Tây Ninh (11), An Giang (10), Tiền Giang (9), Bình Dương (7), Trà Vinh (5), Cà Mau (5), Bình Thuận (3), Bình Định (2), Khánh hoà (2), Bình Phước (2), Long An (2), Bạc Liêu (2) and Đà Nẵng (1).

Việt Nam's national COVID-related death toll stands at 32,610, about 1.9 per cent of total infections, ranking 26th out of 224 countries and territories worldwide. — VNS
