Hà Nội registers record 1,244 COVID-19 cases on Saturday

Hà Nội registered a record 1,244 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the highest the city has ever posted in a single update, with a total of 15,895 infections confirmed nationwide.

HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội registered a record 1,244 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the highest the city has ever posted in a single update, with a total of 15,895 infections confirmed nationwide.

The country’s total number of infections now stands at 1,524,368.

An additional 249 COVID-related deaths were also recorded, bringing the total death number across the country since the start of the pandemic to 29,351.

Just 12 of the new infections were imported, with 10,493 detected in the community.

New cases were reported in 60 provinces and cities nationwide.

Cà Mau Province led the list with 1,341 cases. After Hà Nội with the second most cases, southern HCM City had 1,019, followed by Tây Ninh Province with 941.

The other localities that reported new infections were: Bến Tre (826), Đồng Tháp (785), Cần Thơ (749), Bình Phước (715), Khánh Hòa (601), Vĩnh Long (595), Bạc Liêu (475), Trà Vinh (454), Sóc Trăng (447), Kiên Giang (398), An Giang (374), Thừa Thiên Huế (361), Hậu Giang (340), Bình Thuận (328), Đồng Nai (319), Bình Định (279), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (270), Tiền Giang (264), Bắc Ninh (249), Lâm Đồng (225), Hải Phòng (208), Đà Nẵng (193), Thanh Hóa (192), Bình Dương (167), Quảng Ngãi (121), Gia Lai (119), Nghệ An (99), Phú Yên (94), Quảng Nam (86), Vĩnh Phúc (86), Đắk Nông (72), Thái Bình (70), Nam Định (67), Quảng Ninh (63), Hưng Yên (63), Hà Giang (59), Hòa Bình (57), Long An (57), Quảng Bình (47), Sơn La (44), Hải Dương (43), Ninh Thuận (40), Phú Thọ (36), Quảng Trị (34), Thái Nguyên (28), Ninh Bình (25), Hà Nam (24), Bắc Giang (23), Kon Tum (20), Tuyên Quang (16), Lào Cai (13), Yên Bái (5), Hà Tĩnh (5), Cao Bằng (4), Lai Châu (2) and Điện Biên (2).

A further 1,645 recoveries were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of patients given the all-clear to 1,097,163.

There are currently 7,895 patients in serious condition in hospital across the country, including 19 on life support.
