ĐÀ NẴNG — An online magazine dedicated to tourism in Asia has named the five-star Furama Resort in Đà Nẵng one of its Hot 25 Family Hotels for 2017—the only hotel in Việt Nam to make the list.

The resort’s public relationship manager, Trương Ngọc Thành, told Việt Nam News that the announcement was released following a poll conducted by the magazine.

The poll, which was launched between May and June of 2017, received votes from the magazine’s readers based on hospitality to families, shopping quality, and spa and wedding service.

It’s the second time the coastal resort has been listed in the tourism magazine, after making the 2011 Hot 25 Leisure Hotel/Resort and Suites in Asia.

“We’re honoured to be the only resort in Việt Nam joining the top of 25 family hotels, in line with top resorts from Indonesia and Thailand,” said the resort’s executive director, Matthias Wiessmann.

Last year, the Resort released a 120-page cookbook titled A Journey Through Việt Nam’s Cuisine, featuring recipes from the resort’s culinary library in English and Vietnamese.

In 2016, Đà Nẵng was named among the Top 10 Holiday Destinations in Asia by Smart Travel Asia Magazine.

The central city, which hosted 5.6 million tourists last year, also received an award for Asia’s Leading Festival and Event at the World Travel Awards last October. 

More than 3.3 million tourists, of which 1.2 million were foreigners, visited the city in the first half this year. — VNS
