HÀ NỘI — The National Cancer Institute, in collaboration with the 'Ngày mai tươi sáng' (Bright Future) Fund for Cancer Patients and Roche Pharma Vietnam, has launched a breast cancer consultation channel on the institute’s website www.nci.vn.

The channel, called 'Breast Cancer Corner', will be an official source of information on the prevention and treatment of breast cancer compiled by leading doctors and experts.

Health experts said that many websites provide inaccurate information about breast cancer for the purpose of selling supplement food products and drugs for cancer patients. Some drugs even have adverse effects on the health and treatment process of cancer patients.

Launched in October, Breast Cancer Corner has published many articles that have attracted great attention from the community, patients and family members of breast cancer patients.

“The channel is really a reliable source of information for breast cancer patients and their families. The corner’s information and articles are compiled by leading health experts, helping the community and patients better prevent and treat cancer," said Hoàng Thu Hà, head of the Phụ nữ kiên cường (Resilient Women) Club, a club for breast cancer patients in Việt Nam.

Experts from the Cancer (K) Hospital said that if breast cancer is detected at an early stage, the treatment is more effective. Many women have been cured of this disease and have had a happy life with their families for many years afterwards.
