HÀ NỘI — The Politibureau on Friday issued a conclusion on ways to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for national economic recovery and development.

It said the pandemic is having a comprehensive, intensive and extensive impact on every country, including Việt Nam. Việt Nam has pushed back and controlled the pandemic, yet it is developing in a complex way elsewhere.

In that context, the Politburo stressed the need to use the domestic market to the maximum and cope with outside uncertainties to maintain macro-economic and social stability.

A favourable and attractive business environment suitable to new trends must be created, the conclusion said, adding chances and challenges must be clearly identified to work out solutions.

To do so, authorities and sectors must implement suitable mechanisms and policies to support citizens, firms and workers, concentrating their efforts to strongly develop the domestic market and extending the stability period of the State budget in 2017-20 to 2021.

Enhancing disbursement and efficiency of public investment and adjusting plans for this resource are also major tasks.

In addition, competitiveness must be enhanced, e-government development pushed and social welfare ensured as long-term tasks.

The Politburo further said Party organisations nationwide must seriously implement these tasks to accelerate the social and economic recovery and development after the pandemic.

The Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission is placed in charge of monitoring and inspecting the realisation of the conclusion. — VNS
