International voices to promote innovation & technology for empowerment of Vietnamese migrant women

On International Women's Day 2023, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the United Nations joined the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Ambassadors of Australia, South Korea, the United States, Japan, Sweden, and the United Kingdom to speak out to celebrate the power of women and girls in migration and make recommendations to close the digital gender gap in migration and strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of migrant women in the digital world.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, a range of activities have been held by the Vietnamese Field Hospital in South Sudan. The programme aims to honour local women and their contributions to the society, with a key message: women deserve respect, love and care wherever they are.
National Assembly Chairman Vương Đình Huệ hailed the female officers for maintaining the heroic tradition of Vietnamese heroic women, affirming the comprehensive position and role of women in the sector.
Vietnamese Minister of Public Security General Tô Lâm proposed the Japanese side step up collaboration in the fields of justice, fire prevention and rescue, and fighting against high-tech crime, and share experience in digitalising administrative management.
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính suggested the two sides work closely together to successfully hold major events in celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties as well as further deepening the Việt Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.
