Next week: Should Việt Nam follow South Korea in limiting tourism promotion support?

The Vietnamese branch of the Korea Tourism Organisation said recently that it will no longer fund promotion campaigns for any tour from Vietnam to South Korea that costs less than VND12 million ($538). The move aims at limiting inexpensive and low-quality tours, it said.

While Việt Nam has received increasing attention from international tourists, it also faces the problem of low-quality tours. Do you think the country’s tourism management should follow South Korea’s idea in limiting support for budget tour groups? Will such a move enable more quality tours?
