Hundreds of motorbikes carrying loudspeakers have been seen at many street corners around the capital recently. What makes them different is that the drivers are workers from Hà Nội Electricity Corporation (EVN Hanoi).

According to EVN Hanoi, it is one of the activities being carried out by the company to raise public awareness of energy saving.

The idea has raised an interesting public debate.

Some people support the company’s action, saying it informs local residents about how to use electricity safely and effectively, while people are made aware of upcoming power cuts.

However others disagree, saying that the orange-uniformed workers are driving their motorbikes around the city and causing noise pollution in public places.

Most people use electricity in accordance with their demand, they said.

Some people pointed out that the company is wasting money on petroleum and workers.

“I don’t know why this is still happening in the fourth industrial revolution?”questioned Facebook user Blue Sky.

The writer said that after informing people about the importance of saving energy, maybe EVN Hanoi should run a campaign about the importance of saving petrol. — VNS
