HÀ NỘI — Hanoian Đỗ Thu Thủy triumphed in the women’s 10m individual air rifle event with a new record at the National Shooting Cup yesterday in the capital city.
Thủy totalled 243.3 points to top the event and set a new record of the tournament. Her result was a long distance away from the old record of 206.6 points by teammate Dương Thị Chúc two years ago.
Phùng Thị Lan Hương of Vĩnh Phúc came second and Nguyễn Thị Xuân of Hà Nội was third.
However, Thủy’s score was not enough to help Hà Nội win the team event. It went to Hải Dương squad who grabbed 1,160 points. Hà Nội came second, followed by HCM City.
Hà Nội won their second title of the day in the men’s 10m team air rifle running target class.
Ngô Hữu Vượng, Trần Hoàng Vũ and Nguyễn Mạnh Cường grabbed 1,667 points to take their gold. Army and Hải Phòng were second and third, respectively.
The individual gold went to Đỗ Đức Hùng of Army. He was followed by teammate Nguyễn Mạnh Cường and Vũ of Hà Nội.
The women’s 25m individual sports pistol title went Nguyễn Thùy Dung of Army. And the Pulic Security team pocketed their first gold of the tournament in the team category.
After five days, Army remain the leading team with nine golds. Hải Dương are second and Hà Nội are at third. — VNS
