Cửu Long Delta to get 3 new highways

Three new highways will be built in the Cửu Long delta by 2030, Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thị Mỹ Linh has said.

CẦN THƠ CITY---- Three new highways will be built in the Cửu Long delta by 2030, Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thị Mỹ Linh has said.

They will run between HCM City and Cà Mau, Hà Tiên and Bạc Liêu  and Châu Đốc and Sóc Trăng and measure 200-300km each.

While they would all contribute to the development of region, the HCM City- Cà Mau and Hà Tiên- Bạc Liêu highways will play an especially important role in connecting cities, international borders and ports

Besides, all national roads in the region would be upgraded, while some important provincial roads would become national roads, she said

Also by 2030 Cần Thơ and Phú Quốc international airports would achieve the International Civil Aviation Organization’s 4E standard while other airports would achieve 4C standard.

The Government has instructed the Ministries of Planning and Investment and Finance to mobilise funding for all these works. ---VNS
