VN kids bag gold at Int’l Chemistry Olympiad

HÀ NỘI - Vietnamese students have bagged three gold medals and one silver at the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad in Thailand, the Ministry of Education and Training announced yesterday.

Specifically, 12th grader Đinh Quang Hiếu from the Natural Sciences Gifted High School of the Việt Nam National University, Hà Nội, won a gold medal with 92.13/100 points, ranking 9th among the 297 candidates taking part at the competition.

Nguyễn Bằng Thanh Lâm, 12th grader from Hà Nội – Amsterdam Highschool scored 89.67/100 points, ranking 20th.

Phạm Đức Anh, 11th grader from the Natural Sciences Gifted High School of the Việt Nam National University, Hà Nội, got 89.46/100 points, ranking 21st.

Hoàng Nghĩa Tuyến, 12th grader from Phan Bội Châu Gifted Highschool in Nghệ An Province, achieved 85.91/100 and won a silver medal.

The 2017 International Chemistry Olympiad took place in Thailand, drawing the participation of 297 contestants from around the world.

At this year’s event, the US team ranked first with four gold medals, Việt Nam and Chinese teams both bagged three gold medals, ranking second.— VNS
