HÀ NỘI — General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyễn Phú Trọng hosted a reception in Hà Nội yesterday for President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea, during which the host highlighted the significance of Moon’s current visit to Việt Nam.

The Party chief expressed his belief that the visit will contribute to deepen the cooperative ties between the two countries, while praising the development of Việt Nam-RoK co-operation in various fields, especially economic trade and investment.

Việt Nam always attaches importance to its relations with the RoK, he said, suggesting the two governments continue boosting co-operation, creating a firm political, economic and social foundation and further deepening the Việt Nam-RoK strategic co-operative partnership.

President Moon attributed the bilateral relations’ strong development over the past 25 years to the common efforts of the two countries’ leaders and peoples.

The president affirmed the RoK will exert more efforts to join hands with Việt Nam to foster the two countries’ future relations, bringing practical benefits for both peoples for peace, security, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world.

He hoped the two countries would continue to closely work together to deepen the bilateral ties and soon elevate the relationship to a new height in the time to come.
