Cooking oil firm lends helping hand to underprivileged

HCM CITY — Tường An Vegetable Oil Company gave gifts totally worth VNĐ270 million (US$11,800) for the Lunar New Year to over 2,200 disadvantaged families in HCM City’s Cần Giờ District this week.

It was done as part of a charity programme to support disadvantaged people in co-operation with local authorities and other charity organisations.

The gifts included cash, products made by the company, and confectionery.

Tường An also joined hands with Phú Yên authorities and other companies to build houses for three disadvantaged families in the central province whose houses were destroyed by Storm 12 last November.

Tường An, one of the leading cooking oil producers in the country, has for many years undertaken charity programmes for disadvantaged people. — VNS
