HÀ NỘI — The Friends of Vietnam Heritage’s Book Club will host its monthly event with a review and discussion on the novel Catfish & Mandala by Andrew X Pham on October 4.

The author, who was born in HCM City but spent most of his childhood in the US, penned the book after a two-wheeled voyage through Việt Nam. The book won the 1999 Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize.

The New York Times called the book “Remarkable… A trip so necessary and so noble that it makes others seem like mere jaunts or stunts.”

The event will take place from 7pm until 8.30pm at Maison de Tet Decor, Villa 156 Từ Hoa Street, Tay Ho District. — VNS
