LÂM ĐỒNG — At least five persons died, and two others were injured in a series of crashes on Monday morning.
The accidents took place on Highway No 20 running through Đức Trọng District in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng.
At some 7.30am, a truck carrying fertilisers, which was going from Đà Lạt City to Bảo Lộc City in Lâm Đồng Province, collided with a motorbike and injured two persons.
The truck driver continued to drive and crashed into a smaller truck and four motorbikes, crushing them.
It also hit two other cars parked in the yard of a house by the road.
At least three cars and four motorbikes were completely damaged, Vietnam News Agency reported.
According to Lâm Đồng Province’s police, the driver of the smaller truck and four persons died in the crash. Two of the five victims are yet unidentified.
The two injured persons are being treated at the provincial general hospital. They have suffered multiple injuries.
The truck also hit many houses by the side of the road.
According to the police, the driver of the truck carrying fertilisers may have lost control, resulting in multiple accidents.
The case is being further investigated. — VNS
