The Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) will present a movie by Phi Tiến Sơn, the Lưới Trời (Heaven’s Net, 2003), set in the late 80’s after the đổi mới (renewal) economic reforms.

HÀ NỘI — Tonight, the Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) will present a movie by Phi Tiến Sơn, the Lưới Trời (Heaven’s Net, 2003), set in the late 80’s after the đổi mới (renewal) economic reforms.

The movie talks about a powerful property developer, who conspires with a banker by issuing enormous loans to dozens of fake companies, and taking a ‘personal’ cut of every transaction. As the scheme begins to unravel, every player must indulge or exploit greed, pride, lust, loyalty, family and political ties.

The 101-minute movie will be presented in Vietnamese with English subtitles, The screening will start at 7.30pm tonight at Hanoi Cinematheque, 22A Hai Bà Trưng Street.
