HÀ NỘI — The best housekeepers at the nation’s hotels and resorts were honoured on Wednesday for their contribution to the hotel industry at an awards ceremony in Hà Nội.

The contest was organised by the Việt Nam Executive Housekeeper Association to mark International Housekeeping Week in Việt Nam. The entrants submitted writings, photos and clips describing their work.

The prizes went to housekeepers from the Hilton Hanoi Opera, J W Marriot, Sheraton Hanoi, Intercontinental Saigon, Hanoi Club hotels, and Sông Hồng Resort.

Gagan Talwar, director of Business Development and Operations at the Hilton Hanoi Opera and Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi, said most people don’t take the time to think about the housekeepers who ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of hotels.

“The contest helps honour their effort, and encourages them to work and upgrade service quality,” he said.

Nguyễn Thanh Bình, vice head of the Hotels Department under the Việt Nam Administration of Tourism said housekeepers are the unsung heroes who work diligently to keep hotels clean and provide guests with pleasant stays and memorable experiences. Housekeeping service quality plays an important role in developing the tourism industry, she said. — VNS
