HCM CITY — A new exhibition of  200 paintings and sculptures by 81 Vietnamese artists has opened at the HCM City Fine Arts Association.

All works at the event, Một Tình Yêu Hội Họa (A Love for Fine Arts), are from veteran collector Trương Thuận, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field.

Most of the works feature the beauty of Việt Nam and its people.

The exhibits include oil, watercolour and silk paintings by Hoàng Tích Chù, Vũ Ba and Mai Long, and sculptures in wood and bronze by Trần Tuy. These works were created in the 1970s and send a message about love and peace.

“My collections include several thousand paintings, sketchings and sculptures in different materials by Vietnamese artists of different periods. I wanted to share my love for art in my first public showcase,” said collector Thuận.

The show is being held at 218A Pasteur, District 3, through July 2. It is open from 9am to 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday. — VNS
