SEOUL -- Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's representative news wire service, launched a new English-language news channel, "KOREA NOW," on YouTube on Oct. 1, 2018.
The channel aims to offer a fresh look into the Korean Peninsula and South Korean popular culture, entertainment and lifestyle. It posts 1-2 clips every weekday.
Combining video journalism, information and entertainment, KOREA NOW represents the latest in the news agency's efforts to embrace the technology that is fast reshaping the media landscape.
KOREA NOW drew more than 2,000 new subscribers on Oct. 1 alone, when it started its official service.
"Celebrating the age of social media, KOREA NOW will continue to develop a variety of formats and stories to meet the demands of 1.8 billion YouTube users," Yonhap's KOREA NOW operating team said. Yonhap
