HÀ NỘI — More and more domestic and international tourists visited coastal and Central Highlands provinces during the Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Khánh Hòa Province received 205,000 tourists including 68,500 foreigners, up 5 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Vice director of the department, Nguyễn Thị Lệ Thanh, revealed that most foreign tourists come from China, Russian and South Korea; meanwhile domestic tourists often come from Hà Nội and HCM City.

“The fine weather and the long holiday with nine days off are main reasons for people to travel,” she said.

During the holiday season (February 2-10), four cruises docked at Nha Trang Harbour bringing about 5,600 international travellers. They disembarked to discover Nha Trang City.

In total the coastal and Central Highlands region received 1 million tourists during Tết. — VNS
