HA NOI — Ly Hoang Nam of Viet Nam entered the boys' singles quarter-final round at the Chang Thailand ITF Junior G1 in Bangkok yesterday.
The national champion delivered an outstanding performance against number six seed Daniel Nolan of Australia in the third round, winning 6-1, 6-2.
Earlier, in the second round, the number 10 seed beat Yong Jie Isaac Ong of Singapore 6-3, 6-2.
In the quarter-final round, he will play number two seed Djurabeck Karimov of Uzbekistan, who beat Scott Jones of Australia 6-3, 6-3 yesterday.
In the boys' doubles category, Nam and Nolan are seeded number five. They reached the semi-final round after trouncing the number three pair of Karimov and Wu Tung-lin 6-4, 6-4.
