HÀ NỘI — Jan Paul Morales of Philippine Navy won the third stage of the third VTV International Cycling Tournament – Tôn Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.

Morales won the 154km stage from Thanh Hóa to Vinh City of Nghệ An Province in which he completed in 3:34.37.

David van Eerd of Global Cycling Team, Jiung Jang of Korail Cycle Team and Purnomo Setiawan of PGN-Indonesia were the runners-up.

Finishing second in this race, David won the yellow jersey for the best overall time after three stages.

While the green jersey award for the best sprinter went to Im Jaeyeon of Korail Cycle Team.

Nguyễn Đắc Thời of Hà Nội won the white jersey as the best young cyclist.

Today, 80 cyclists from six domestic teams and six from overseas clubs will continue to compete in the fourth 197km stage from Vinh City to Đồng Hới City of Quảng Bình Province.

The 14-stage event, which is co-organised by Việt Nam Television and the Việt Nam Cycling Federation to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), will finish in HCM City on September 16. — VNS
