HÀ NỘI — As many as 64 international and domestic players will compete in the Bình Dương International Three-Cushion Billiards Tourney, which will be held in the National Conference and Exhibition of Bình Dương Province from August 16 to 18.
The competitors include Trần Quyết Chiến (ranked 12 worldwide), Ngô Đình Nại (ranked 17), Nguyễn Quốc Nguyện (ranked 14) and defending champion of last year’s tourney Mã Minh Cẩm (ranked 24).
Besides, there will be five players from Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands. Among them, South Korean player Kang Dong Koong (ranked 23), won the 2015 tourney.
Đoàn Tuấn Anh, head of Việt Nam billiards and snooker team, said the event is an opportunity for domestic players to exchange experience and skills, “I hope via this tourney, Việt Nam billiards will have more excellent players to compete internationally.”
A total of $12,845 prize money is on offer. The champion will receive $2,569, while the runner-up will get $1,284 and second runner-up $856. — VNS
