HÀ NỘI — No 1 seed duo Lý Hoàng Nam and Trịnh Linh Giang won the men’s doubles at the Việt Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) Pro Tour 1.
The final was held in Vũng Tàu City on February 1.
The duo from Becamex Bình Dương defeated veterans Hoàng Thành Trung and Ngô Đức Dương of the Police 6-1, 6-0.
Despite being more experienced, both Trung and Dương surrendered to the powerful attacks of Nam and Giang.
On the women’s side, Fodor Csilla and Phan Thị Thanh Bình of Đà Nẵng crushed Hoàng Thị Hà and Đặng Thị Hạnh of Hải Dương 6-2, 6-2 to triumph in the doubles category.
This is the first time non-resident Vietnamese Csilla has played in a professional event in Việt Nam. She is expected to become a leading player in the country.
This evening, Nam will face Giang in the men’s singles final, while Csilla will play against Tiffany Linh Nguyễn of Bình Dương in the women’s singles final. — VNS
