HÀ NỘI — All Vietnamese were ousted from the Việt Nam Men’s Futures F7 in Bình Dương Province yesterday.

The host’s top hope Lý Hoàng Nam was defeated 5-7, 4-6 by No 3 seed Masato Shiga of Japan in the singles quarter-finals.

Nam and teammate Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên withdrew from the doubles semi-finals, giving their rivals Francis Casey Alcantara of France and David Agung Susanto of Indonesia a walkthrough to the final.

In other matches yesterday, qualifier Rhett Purcell of Great Britain won 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 over No 2 seed Laurent Rochette of France; No 8 seed Noh Sang-woo of South Korea beat qualifier David Nguyen of the US 6-7 (6), 6-0, 6-2; and Canadian Kelsey Stevenson trounced Stefan Skadarka of Australia 6-2, 6-1. — VNS
