Honours even in Ha Noi derby

HA NOI (VNS) — Ha Noi T&T drew 1-1 with Ha Noi FC in the third round of the national premier league at Hang Day Stadium yesterday.

The two teams were on the attack in search of goals, though no goals were scored in the first half.

After the break, Ha Noi T&T opened the scoring thanks to Gonzalo Damian Marronkle’s goal in the 56th minute. The team had several
chances to raise the score, but their strikers were unable to score against Ha Noi FC’s goalie.

In the 81st minute, Cong Thao levelled the score for Ha Noi FC.

In other matches, Hoang Anh Gia Lai drew goalless with Quang Ninh Coal at Pleiku Stadium, while Dong Tam Long An tied 1-1 with Binh Duong.

On Saturday, Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) tied with Quang Nam 3-3 at Vinh Stadium.

Newly appointed coach Nguyen Huu Thang of the national men’s football team was also present at the match.

At the 23rd minute, Felix Gbenga Ajala opened the score for the visitors. However, before the first half closed, Tran Phi Son and Nguyen Van Vinh scored two goals for the hosts.

After the break, from a corner kick in the left wing, Tran Manh Toan put a header past the goalie of SLNA to level the score to 2-2.

Then in the 57th minute, Odah Marsha raised the score to 3-2 for the hosts, but only a few minutes later Dinh Thanh Trung equalised for Quang Nam with a goal from the 11m spot.

At Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong defeated Can Tho 1-0.

Can Tho played defence-attack, causing difficulties for the hosts’ players. However, Errol Stevens helped Hai Phong clear their deadlock with his goal in the 64th minute.

In other matches, SHB Da Nang won Khanh Hoa 1-0 at Chi Lang Stadium. — VNS
