SAI GON (VNS) — Saigon Heat dug deep to earn a 100-99 victory over the Mono Vampire Basketball Club in over-time at Sripatum University Stadium in Thailand on Saturday.
Mono Vampire were a ‘favourite' rival of the Heat, as they lost the earlier three games against the team this season.
In this match, the hosts made a difference when they went ahead to lead 90-80 in the last quarter.
Down by 10, the Heat fought back in the final minutes to force overtime and eventually took over in the extra session. The Heat have two remaining games before the playoffs begin. They face the Pilipinas MX3 Kings on Wednesday, for their last home game of the elimination round, and then travel to Singapore to face the Singapore Slingers on February 21. — VNS
