The Viet Nam national middle-distance running team will leave for Kunming, China late this month to train for the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in June.
Athletes will have six weeks to hone their skills.
At the coming Games, the team aim to earn at least two golds. At the 27th Games, Do Thi Thao won two gold medals in the women's 800m and 1,500m, while Duong Van Thai bagged gold in the men's 1,500m.
In other news, Quach Thi Lan, who belongs to the women's 400m team, will soon leave for a two-month training period in the US.
This is Lan's second practise in the US. Last year, Lan and three other young runners trained there for four months. — VNS
