HA NOI (VNS) — Under the guidance of new American coach Cray Anthony Teeters, Viet Nam's top female swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien is expected to shine in the FINA World Swimming Championships 2014 to be held in Doha, Qatar from November 30 to December 8.
Teeters, who coached American eleven-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, will guide the 18-year-old swimmer until the end of next year.
Vien also recently revealed a personal goal: to become the first Vietnamese athlete to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Vien made history as she clinched the country's first-ever bronze medal in the swimming event at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea on September 23. — VNS
