HA NOI (VNS) — The National Sports Administration has decided to send 146 players to the fourth Asian Beach Games that will be held in Thailand from November 14 to 23.

They will participate in 13 out of 26 disciplines, including beach swimming, beach athletics and beach kurash, as well as beach pentaque, beach sepak takraw and beach volleyball.

About 2,500 players and coaches from 45 nations are expected to participate in the games, which is a multi-sport event held every two years for sportspersons in Asia.

Viet Nam will host the next Asian Beach Games in June 2016, which will feature 19 events. The first Asian Beach Games took place in Bali, Indonesia, in 2008. This was followed by the games in Muscat in Oman, and Haiyang in China. — VNS
