Vietnamese team Thai Son Nam is set for tough competition after being placed in Group A at the AFC Futsal Cup in Nagoya, Japan.
The group includes strong rivals such as Shenzhen Nanling from China, Al Sadaka from Lebanon and Japan's Nagoya Oceans.
Nagoya Oceans are the top team not only in their local league but also for Asia. They took the champion's title in 2011 and finished third last year.
A source from Thai Son Nam said Nagoya Oceans would probably take a ticket to the next round while the rest of three would fight for the remaining berth.
Group B includes defending champions Sanaye Giti Pasand from Iran, silver medal holder Ardus FC from Uzbekistan, Chonburi Bluewave of Thailand and Al Sadd SC from Qatar.
The schedule for the tournament, which runs from August 27 to September 1, will be confirmed later.-VNS
