Liem drops to 30th in world rankings

Vietnamese top chess player Le Quang Liem has dropped one place to 30th position in the latest ranking by the International Chess Federation's compared to early May.

The International Grandmaster Liem went down in the recent Asian Chess Championships.

Norway's Magnus Carlsen leads the rankings, followed by Levon Aronian of Armenia and Vladimir Kramnik of Russia.

Liem and his teammate Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son are scheduled to attend the World Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships slated for June 5-11 in Khanty-Mansiysk in Russia.-VNS
