Long bike ride helps raise funds for nurse training

Update: May, 27/2013 - 10:47

The central city's Hospital for Women and Children was the finishing post for a 1,500km ride from the northern province of Lao Cai to Da Nang City yesterday.

In the event, which aims to raise US$135,000 for an 18-month neonatal nurse training programme for 26 nurses, 24 cyclists completed the 10-day challenge – and the last 110km from Hue to Da Nang.

British Ambassador Antony Stokes also praised cyclists for their ride, adding that the nurse training programme at Da Nang would help lead the way.
