HA NOI (VNS) — Ninety students from Francophone universities in Cambodia, China, Mongolia and Thailand, besides Viet Nam will take part in the Francophone summer school at Ha Noi University till August 8.

During the five-day course, which began yesterday, the participants will participate in different activities related to the theme of Heritage and Sustainable Development.

They will participate in various workshops with experts from different Francophone countries, and visit the capital's famous cultural and historical sites and craft villages.

They will also report through articles, photos and videos, which will feature their opinions about the capital's historical sites and craft villages.

"The course aims to help students improve their knowledge of the French language by discussing with each other in French about different things related to the theme and discovering each other's culture," Nguyen Van Thuy, a member in the organising committee of the course at the university, said.

"The university has become a cultural playground for students coming from different cultures and speaking the common language of French," she said.

"It aims to increase the awareness of students about the importance of restoration of historical cultural heritage and sustainable development."

The young students will be trained by international volunteer students, young professors of the university and experts from AUF (Francophone University Association).

The school is also a good opportunity for Asian Francophone students to meet, exchange and share memorable moments with each other.

Previously, this summer course was held in Hue University in Hue City in July. — VNS
