HCM CITY — Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor and Doctor Klaus Schwab, yesterday met and talked to students of National University HCM City about their role for the future.
Schwab said all the world's nations were connecting so the young generation needed global awareness to work with each other to build a global institution.
Leaders of the future would need to have forward thinking and vision, he said. He encouraged students to never stop learning after graduating as information was constantly updating.
The university's head Associate Professor and Doctor Phan Thanh Binh, thanked him for helping the 300 students who attended on their road to success.
To recognise his outstanding contribution to global economics and his long-standing commitment to Viet Nam, the University conferred an honorary doctorate on Schwab.
"I would like to thank the Viet Nam National University for this honour," said Klaus Schwab. "The goals of the university – to contribute to the socio-economic development of Viet Nam – are ones that I share wholeheartedly. I hope that through the activities of the World Economic Forum we can make a positive contribution to the development of Viet Nam." — VNS
