ĐẮK NÔNG — The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission has issued decisions reprimanding two officials of the Đắk Nông Province People’s Committee for lacking responsibility in leadership, causing violations in forest protection and management.

The decisions were made during the commission’s 33rd session in Hà Nội to conclude wrongdoings of the Party Committee of Đắk Nông Province’s People’s Committee.

Nguyễn Bốn, secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and chairman of Đắk Nông Province People’s Committee, and Trương Thanh Tùng, member of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and vice chairman of the province’s People’s Committee, have been given strong warnings.

The Inspection Commission also asked the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee to discipline the province’s Party Civil Affairs Committee for the 2016-21 term according to its authority.

In its last session, the Inspection Commission concluded the province’s Party Civil Affairs Committee for the term had violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations. It had loosened leadership, leading to violations of forest land allocation, protection, management and compensation.

It had caused losses to the State budget, deforestation and forest encroachments, creating disputes and complaints.

Bốn took personal responsibility for the above violations. He lacked responsibility in leadership, causing violations in forest management, protection and development. He directly signed decisions on land leasing, forest allocation and compensation which failed to obey the law.

Tùng also directly signed a number of decisions not in accordance with the law. — VNS
