QUẢNG NINH — Police in the northern border province of Quảng Ninh recently arrested three Chinese nationals who are on the international wanted list for illegal detention of others.

Earlier, the police at the Chinese Embassy in Việt Nam asked police in the northern border province of Lạng Sơn to arrest Wu Xin Ming, a Chinese national born in 1972 and residing in Shanghai City. Initial information revealed that the Chinese man was hiding at Wyndham Hotel in Quảng Ninh Province’s Hạ Long City. According to the Chinese side, his two accomplices are Hei Long Jiang, born in 1961 and Zhang Zhen Jiang, born in 1986.

After exchanging information, police in Quảng Ninh Province and relevant agencies successfully arrested Wu on Tuesday when he left the hotel in Hạ Long City, for dinner with his two friends.

The three suspects organised trips to Malaysia for Chinese people to gamble. They lent money to gamblers when they lost, then detained them and asked their families to transfer money to their bank accounts.

The three escaped to Quảng Ninh Province after being placed on the wanted list by Chinese police.

Lạng Sơn police have completed necessary procedures and handed the three men over to their Chinese counterparts. — VNS
