THANH HÓA — Thanh Hóa Province People’s Committee on Wednesday asked relevant agencies to review and inspect the promotion of a Construction Department official.

The official in question is Trần Vũ Quỳnh Anh, head of the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Division under the province’s Construction Department.

The promotion of the 31-year-old female official is said to take place “unusually fast.” In 2011, she signed a labour contract with the department without undergoing any competitive examination, and then started working as an employee at the department’s Construction Work Quality Assessment Centre.

In 2012, she moved to the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Division.

In April, 2015, she was promoted vice head of the division. Six months later, she was appointed to the head post of the division.

Local media have recently reported about her alledgedly "unusual" promotions, adding that she has assets worth tens of billions of Vietnamese đồng.

Meanwhile, in her profile, she reported yearly income of some VNĐ60 million (US$2,630).

Leaders of the Construction Department have on repeated occasions refused to comment on Quỳnh Anh’s promotions and assets.

According to an announcement by the provincial People’s Committee, the inspection related to promotions at the Construction Department would continue until March 30.

Committee spokesman Ngô Hoàng Kỳ said any problem that arose during inspection would be addressed in accordance with laws and regulations.

The non-cooperation between Construction Department leaders and the media would be reported to the province’s leaders, Kỳ said. — VNS
