HA NOI (VNS) —Ha Noi authorities launched the tree-planting festival 2016 at the site of Ly Thai To statue today.

The event, annually held at the outset of the lunar New Year, is a tradition initiated by the late President Ho Chi Minh in 1960.

Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, former Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and residents of Hoan Kiem District attended the festival.
