HA NOI (VNS) — The US government health programme in Viet Nam has provided funds of more than US$900 million since the 1995 normalisation of relations.
This accounts for approximately 75 per cent of the US government's overall asistance to Viet Nam.
This information was released yesterday in Ha Noi during the 20th anniversary celebrations of US–Viet Nam health co-operation initiatives and normalised bilateral relations.
During the celebration, Ambassador of the United States of America to Viet Nam Ted Osius and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien awarded medals "for People's Health" to eight American diplomats and issued US Embassy Certificates of Appreciation to 32 Vietnamese individuals for their dedicated contributions towards advancing bilateral heath co-operation. — VNS
